Most people have gone through times of trouble. I am sure that you have many stories as we all do, but in the midst of the storm Gods grace shows up.

Our Eagle bus had been broke down for sometime. Praying and waiting for answers a knock came on our door in the country home where we live. The door was opened to a dear Minister Friend of ours Bro.Wayne, he began to say he wanted our Eagle bus and needed us to go see our new bus. New I say… Yes new to us. A 1989 Prevost, working for God many years never did we think God would have these blessings stored up for us.

5 years this bus had been in storage through a repo situation in another state. Little did we know while we were walking some of the darkest places in our ministry and life, that God was so far ahead of us. Thankful will never be a big enough word to express what we feel. Blessed is not enough of a word either.

You will see the Eagle bus photo,we had been to a local Church… Old fashion day. Anyone that knows this Family Ministry can say we have fought many up hill battles…Having come through them all tattered and torn, but over joyed at the blessings of God and miracles.

2010 was no different more of the same.

Somehow 2011 came a little break for us. I was telling you about the new bus you will see my husband Stanley and I. Our joy and passion we have working for God knows no boundaries, we love sharing the gospel and singing and encouraging our brothers and sisters in the Lord.

2012 has hit us hard, more sickness, my husband’s heart attack and 3 surgeries in a weeks time. Bro. Stanley’s first heart attack was in 1999, then surgery and back out on the Semi. In one months time tragedy struck again a fully loaded semi with a box trailer ran his red light talking on a cell phone and forever changed our lives.

Multiple surgeries more heart attacks , therapy to rebuild my husbands body. Confined for years of hospital bed, wheel chairs, walkers then canes. God’s grace was always with us.

Many times during those years we would promise God if he would just restore our family we would be faithful to visit home bound people , sick ,hurting and forgotten. Being reminded all along that God has the whole world in his hands.

Think about it… Would you ever drop one of your little ones ,I say not…God will never let any of us slip through his hands.
I know with all my heart this Family Ministry has only just begun. A

t first my husband ask not to be put on the web, being a Marine and also a Truck Driver you can understand the (man thing) but being a Minister he sees the other side of the situation.

Without a TEST there is no testimony we definitely want to glorify GOD and give HIM all the praise.

We are home from the Hospital after a week in Cardiac ICU, many problems still, but thank God, once again PRAYER and FAITH in GOD also fantastic Drs. and Nurses coming to the aide of Bro. Stan and not failing to give their best.

THE TUNE FAMILY is still walking on for
JESUS.

Thanks all of you that knew and were praying we will forever be grateful.

2012 is going to be a great year our plans this year included many more Nursing Homes, and Veterans Hospitals, this is only a short pause for rest and restoration.

We will be up and out in no time.

God has a beautiful way of bringing good vibrations out of broken chords || Charles Swindoll

It’s been a long time since we have written anything on our website. It has been a long hard year much pain, but yet many blessings. We are sorry for not being faithful to post we will do much better this year.

This guitar that you see in this picture last year with the broken strings came more to pass than we ever expected for the Tune Family. But now as Nathan wins this contest there again it involves a guitar, but they are new strings, new songs and new beginnings.

The Tune family has had many broken chords this past year. We desire the prayers of Gods people for healing as we continue on this highway to Heaven. Many blessings from Highways and Byways Ministries.

As we start this new year, I can’t help but reflect on years gone by….

In 2000, we lost one who was so special, my father-in-law (Frank Tune). He was like a dad to me.

Then, in 2001, we spent the first 16 days of January in the hospital, sitting by Mom’s bedside. When we lost my Mom (Winnie Baker Neff), such a strong presence – the spark that lit up our world – had gone out.

One year later, my mother-in-law, Alma Tune, was gone – more heartbreak.

Uncles, cousins, and dear friends… It continued.

Then, in 2009, a precious nephew left us entirely too soon: Joe Don Baker, a strong, handsome young man.

Before we caught our breath, tragedy struck again. My bubbly, smiling-faced niece, Christi Wilder VanVickle, was yanked from our hearts.

I woke up in the night. My thoughts went to them – and my mom. I wonder how we go on playing life’s song, when the strings to all of our hearts are broken? With broken strings, we seem so out of tune, but with us all going on together we – as family and friends – can still make a beautiful melody. It just seems we changed keys, or maybe we changed songs.

As life goes forward – and it must – we will  continue to:

What’s in a Valentine?

It’s things money can’t buy such as a hug or smile that touch hearts beyond measure, or just time spent with someone who doesn’t have anyone that make the most valuable, memorable gift. Time and caring doesn’t take a lot of money….

Spreading the Love

To show our love and appreciation, Highways and Byways Ministries recently put together — and personally delivered — 60 custom Valentine’s Day gift bags. These bags were filled with various old-fashioned candies, chosen to spark warm memories in the residents. They also contained needed items, such as socks to keep their feet warm, and a handwritten Valentine card to make them feel special and show they are loved and thought about.

It’s the Thought that Counts

It didn’t take a ton of money to purchase the items necessary for assembling these Valentine bags. And, it didn’t take that much time to toss the stuff in the bags, or to stop by the nursing home and carry them in.  The weathered faces that greeted us when we walked in have worked in the fields, raised children with morals, been wonderful grandparents, friends, neighbors, and citizens. Some fought for our country; others taught our children. They deserve respect, and to be remembered.

Our Valentine Gift

The smiles and excitement on the residents’ faces was worth it all. There is no monetary amount or materialistic item that could replace what we felt in our hearts and souls as we watched the gratitude glowing from the faces of those who sacrificed their life and time for others, who now spend their days longing for visits from someone they love, or anyone — even someone they don’t know, just to sit with them for a spell and keep them company on those long, lonely days.

He has performed miracle after miracle and continues to bless each and every day.

One of our favorite things to do is to reach out to those who are homebound, in nursing homes, hospitals, etc. We’re excited to let you know we have something special planned for Valentine’s Day for the residents of a nursing home in our area.
